Jason Gantt, LMFT is a uniquely qualified professional, holding both a license as a Marriage & Family Therapist in Indiana and ordination as a minister. His dual expertise allows him to offer compassionate counseling, drawing from wisdom and experience gained in both roles. Jason’s heart is dedicated to helping individuals and families heal and grow in Christ, emphasizing that true hope is found only in Jesus.
As the first generation in his family to attend college, he received his bachelor’s degree in religion and Christian ministries from Campbell University and completed his Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at Johnson University. Jason’s passion lies in marriage and family ministry, and he adeptly addresses issues that hinder true freedom in Christ. Through Refuge Christian Counseling, he operates under the belief that God’s word provides the foundation for answers to life’s struggles.
Jason is married to his wife of 23 years and is the father to four children, three boys and a girl. Jason and his family are active in their church where Jason currently serves in leadership as an elder. In his free time, Jason enjoys following all of his children's activities and enjoys playing tennis himself.
Jason's journey through life reflects a tapestry of experiences that have shaped him into a compassionate leader and counselor. Growing up in North Carolina, he experienced the effects of substance abuse within his family as well as the loss of his father when he was only 13. Jason worked hard to follow his calling into full-time Christian ministry and enjoyed many years specifically ministering to youth. Working with youth and their families led Jason to pursue a career in counseling in order to be more equipped to facilitate growth and healing within the many levels of individual and family challenges.
Jason has also encountered first-hand the grief that comes with infertility and multiple pregnancy losses. Additionally, he offers experience with the foster care system both professionally and from providing care within his family's home.
Most recently Jason and his family experienced the challenges of childhood cancer as they walked with their youngest son through an unexpected leukemia diagnosis at the age of seven.
Jason's path has been marked by a pursuit of wisdom and a desire to support others through their own challenges, embodying the essence of service and empathy. His story is a testament to the power of turning personal struggles into a source of strength and guidance for others, anchored by an unwavering trust in the goodness and refuge offered by his faith.
